For the first time in English, this volume provides both general interest readers and specialists the full scope of current scholarship on the Book of Changes, also known as the I Ching or Yijing. In order to achieve this, the book addresses three fundamental issues: the relationship between the sixty-four hexagrams and the Ten Wings (seven pieces of early commentarial writings); the disparate approaches to interpreting the text in Imperial China; and the transformation of the text into a global classic since WWI.
